Submitting for Review

What happens when a writer sends an article into the editorial workflow.

Overview

Submitting for review moves an article out of private draft space and into the editorial path. From that point, the article is waiting for review, feedback, approval, or later publishing movement.

When to use this

Use this when the article has a complete shape and you are ready for an editor to read it.

How it works

  1. Open the finished draft or complete the article form.
  2. Check the title, excerpt, article body, and optional reflection prompt.
  3. Submit the article for review.
  4. The article becomes visible to the responsible editor or article-level assigned editor.
  5. The editor may begin review, return it for revision, or approve it for Manager review.
  6. Managers make the final publishing, scheduling, or approval decisions later in the workflow.

Things to know

  • Submission is a handoff, not a guarantee of publication.
  • If an editor returns the article, the piece comes back to you with revision guidance.
  • If the article is approved and published, it becomes part of the public library.
  • Waiting during review does not always mean something is wrong; the dashboard and notifications help show meaningful movement.
